- The dialog from this part of the outsiders shows how the Socs and the Greasers interact with each other, this also helpsprogress the plot progress by making this fight happen and pony being able to see Johnny before he dies.
- The conflict in the outsiders is impacted by the dialogue in this situation because Ponyboy is trying to deal with the trauma that he has experienced by making himself believe that it didn't happen.
- The reason the conflict is impacted in this scene is because Ponyboy is explaining what is normal in the society and also explaining why the greasers situation and how they live.
