- Welcome to the Indus Valley
- The Indus Valley was located where the modern countries of Pakistan and India are. The Indus Valley civilization lasted from about 2700 BCE to 1900 BCE. This civilization is located near the Indus River.
- Our homes are made out of kiln-fired mud bricks. We spend lots of time on our roofs because it is a lot cooler up there.
- We have indoor toilets in all of our homes. The waste water and waste goes through our pipes into the drain that was located on the sides of the streets.
- I am at the Great Bath. We bathe here as a part of one of our religious rituals. The Great Bath has dressing rooms and is made of waterproof brick.
- In my hand is a seal. We use seals to show ownership of our goods. The seals also have pictures of many different types of animals.
- Without a form of currency, we exchange goods to trade.
- We trade food for beads, cotton cloth, and pots and the other way around. Some people transport their goods by ships and some transport theirs on carts or on their backs.
