The Black Plague came to Europe in 1347 in ships full of infected people and animals.
When the ships arrived people came with a cough, fever, blue spots on their skin and with respiratory distress.
The Black Plague spread throughout the world killing between 30 and 60 percent of the world's population.
The origin of the Black Plague was an outbreak caused by a bacterium "Yersinia pestis" originated in Mongolia and from there spread to Asia and Europe.
The great loss of population brought economic changes based on increased social mobility as depopulation eroded the obligations of peasants to remain on their traditional lands.
The corpses of the dead were kindled. Then there was a large fire that killed, displaced and scared away the rats and the rat population decreased. The Black Plague was controlled with effective methods to combat it were: phytosanitary such as quicklime, fire and better sanitation.
