- exposition: Mme Loisel is frustrated with her life. she wants to have a nice house with nice jewelry and live a luxurious life.
- why can't I be rich it sucks living this poor life.
- Conflict introduced: Mme Loisel gets an invitation to a ball and many rich people are going but she doesn't want to go cause she will look poor since she has no dress or nice Jewelry.
- I can't I don't have a dress or anything I will look poor.
- I have got an invitation to a ball would you like to go?
- Rising Action: Mme Loisel goes to the ball she has gotten a brand new dress and she has borrowed a necklace from her friend Mme Forest. All the men admire her and want to be introduced to her.
- I am so happy Mme forest let me borrow the necklace it looks so nice
- Hello nice to meet you.
- Climax: when Mme Loisel gets back from the ball she realizes she doesn't have the necklace. It had fallen off on the walk back or when she took the dress off.
- Oh no the necklace is gone.
- Falling action: Mme Loisel is in debt because she has to pay off the necklace that she lost she works a rough job and is now a low class person.

- Resolution: Mme Loisel finds out that the necklace she had to pay back to Mme forest was fake and only worth $500.
