- Above the entire city, on a pedestal, stood the statue of theHappy Prince. It was made of the finest gold leaves, it had two dazzlingsapphires for eyes and a red ruby on the hilt of its sword.

- One night a swallow came to town on its way to Egypt.  but she had stayed behind because she hadfallen in love with a junk. She decided to stay with her crush but whenautumn came her friends left and she began to get tired of her love, soshe had decided to head for the Pyramids.
- Her journey took her there and seeing the statue of the HappyPrince she thought it was a good place to perch and spend the night, and When she had her head under her wing and was about to fallasleep, a large drop of water fell on her.
- How strange, there aren't even clouds in the sky
- But then a second drop fell and a third. She looked up and whatwas her surprise when she saw that it was not water that fell but tears,tears of the Happy Prince.
- - Swallow: Who are you?- Prince: I am the Happy Prince- Swallow: Oh. And then why are you crying?-Prince: Because when he was alive he lived in the Palace of Carelessnessand pain did not exist there.
