- Hey Caleb? Have you noticed how many cars are in Phoenix? Makes me wonder how much carbon dioxide is released into the air.
- Hey, you're right Justine. I have noticed! Electric cars have the solution for gasoline-powered cars, although that doesn't solve all the cause of air pollution. Industries, different types of transportation, and agriculture are other types of things that ruin our air quality according to epa.gov!
- Wait! One of my old science teachers once told me that trees take in carbon dioxide and release fresh oxygen for us. I also did some research on an organization called the Arizona Community Tree Council. They mainly focus on planting and caring for trees in rural areas but maybe we can contact them and get together to start planting more trees in more urban and public areas.
- That's a great idea! The trees that will be planted around Phoenix will help clear up the polluted air that surrounds our city. We can help develop an organization along with the Arizona Community Tree Council by handing our flyers and promoting all over the city! Speaking of air pollution, improving our air quality will also help out sensitive groups.
- By sensitive groups, you mean people with lung problems, allergies, babies, and elderly people right? My mom just so happens to have allergies, that explains why she is always sneezing and has a runny nose whenever we go outside!
- You're exactly right Justine and what are we waiting for?! The sooner we start, the faster we can help our city become more sustainable and reduce the environmental impact from our city!
