- After the Mier y Teran report, President Anastasio Bustamante enforced the Law of April 6, 1830. They banned immigration, slaves could no longer be brought to Texas and placed custom duties on all goods entering Texas.
- There are more Americans, than there are Texans. We have to fix this.
- We can just establish new laws to make sure Texas does not become Americanized.
- The Texans did not like the new laws at all which were one of the major reasons that the Texas Revolution started. They thought that the laws were unfair and not reasonable
- We will be enforcing new laws, and it is called the Law of April 6, 1830
- These laws are really unfair! We want our rights!
- All the Texans reacted differently to the law of April 6, 1830. Some thought Texas should be their own country, while others had different ideas.
- We should be our own country!

- Stephen F. Austin writes a letter saying about all the stuff that Texas wanted. Including wanting to be a separate state, lowering taxes, and allowing immigration. He sent it to Santa Anna.

- Stephen F. Austin meets with Santa Anna. Santa Anna says that he won't be able to grant all the requests but he did most of them. He also sent Stephen F. Austin to jail for suspicion of inciting insurrection
- I would like to request that Texas be a separate state apart from Coahuila.
- I can only grant some of your requests but you are under arrest for inciting insurrection!
- After the meeting with Santa Anna, Stephen F. Austin got sent to jail for suspicion of inciting insurrection. He got sent to stay there for 2 years.
