- I can't make a fire! I am so frustrated and sad. I would do anything just to have a fire.
- Brian is trying to make wood to start a fire.
- This strategy has to work! If I find a lot of wood, I can make a bonfire!

- According to chapter 10, Brian tried so many strategies to make a fire but never worked which is called a trial and error. He tried using a Hatchet and he tried using grass and twigs but they never worked. He was so frustrated and angry.
- According to chapter 10, he is really thinking what he can do to make a fire. After he thinks about strategies, he thought that having wood would help him make a fire. He was excited and hopeful.
- According to chapter 10, he succeeded to make a fire with just his blow of his mouth. This scene is the theme of independence because he made a fire by himself. He was so excited and happy that he made a new friend name fire.
