- Since it is November 1, I think you should get this one about el Dia de los Muertos!
- Where am I?
- I wonder what is going on here?
- Oh, a grave yard!!!
- Sush! I am trying to pray!
- Once someone went to a store and bought a magic book about the Day of the Dead. It could transport him right into the story he was reading.
- Do not touch that!!!
- Food! I am hungry.
- Food! I am hungry.
- After he opened the front cover he found himself in a grave yard with a large ofrenda, or alter, inside of it.
- This is great! I think I'll start celebrating el Dia de los Muertos too!
- The graves and ofrenda were loaded with colorful flowers, candles, food, water, and even toys. He saw people praying, and dressed up like skeletons too!
- What a dream! I better go get my offering!!
- As he flipped through the pages of the book he learned that the food, drinks, flowers, and toys were there to welcome the spirits home to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. He felt embarrassed that he had thought of eating it himself! He decided to go home to eat something that was meant for him.
- On his way home he heard all sorts of guitar music and singing, there were people dancing in the streets too. He was excited to find himself in the middle of a celeration with loads of happy people. He thought about putting out a candle, photo, and welcome home meal for his family who had died too. He really liked the idea of welcoming home the spirits!
- After he walked through is front door he closed the book. All of a sudden he woke up and found himself in his bed. Even though he dreamed up the whole experience, he remembered learning about the holiday in Spanish class, and decided to put out an offering for the spirits that he was missing anyway. He was excited to welcome them home.
