- Macbeth and Banquo encounter the three witches after finishing the battle for Scotland. The witches prophecy that Macbeth will be the Thane of Coward and King of Scotland and that Banquo will be the father of future Kings
- Macbeth writes a letter his wife and in the letter, he told her about the three witches and their prophecy about Cawdor and King. With this news, Lady Macbeth fantasizes about ways for her and her husband to gain that power faster.
- Macbeth kills the king and in his fury he kills the guards which wasn't part of the plan
- Macbeth is distraught that he killed the King. And tells Lady Macbeth that he will never sleep well again. However, Lady Macbeth tells him to act more manly and how is done and there is no turning back.
- Macbeth is pronounced King of Scotland.
- Macbeth now as king is starting to become more malicious and protective of his power. The witches told him that Banquo's sons would be kings so Banquo and Fleance would be a threat to his reign. And so Macbeth made the execuative decision to murder both of them however Fleance managed to escape
