- Socs were just guys after all. Things were rough all over, but it was better that way. That way you could tell the other guy was human too.

- I learned that bob and Randy werent some heartless socs jumping greaser and getting drunk because they like hurting people and getting drunk, it because bob want his parents to well parent and Randy just does it because of peer presure, and that as ponyboy says "things are rough all over" and that life isnt perfect for anyone
