- "Mercutio, thou consort’st with Romeo"
- "Consort? What, dost thou make us minstrels? An thou make minstrels of us, look to hear nothing but discords. Here’s my fiddlestick. Here’s that shall make you dance. Zounds, “consort”!"
- "We talk here in the public haunt of men.Either withdraw unto some private place,And reason coldly of your grievances,Or else depart. Here all eyes gaze on us"
- "Gentle Mercutio, put thy rapier up"
- "I am hurt.A plague o' both your houses! I am sped. Is he gone and hath nothing?"
- "O Romeo, Romeo, brave Mercutio is dead! That gallant spirit hath aspired the clouds, Which too untimely here did scorn the earth."
- Mercutio and Benvolio are talking amongst themselves, Mercutio is going on about how "hot-headed" Benvolio is and how he wants to use his weapon at any chance.Tybalt and Capulets approach them. Tybalt wants to have word with the men to resolve issues and talk about Romeo.
- "This shall determine that"
- As Mercutio and Tybalt are talking about Romeo, Romeo arrives at the scene. Mercutio is angered by Tybalt and Romeos talk and draws his sword. Tybalt and Mercutio start to fight as Romeo begs them to stop.
- "Romeo, get out of here. The citizens are around, and Tybalt is dead. Don’t stand there shocked. The Prince will give you the death penalty if you get caught. So get out of here!"
- "Oh, I am fortune’s fool!"
- The two men are fighting when Tybalt stabs mercutio. Tybalt is dragged away from the fight by the Capulet men with him. As Mercutio is dying he wishes a curse on both of the families. Benvolio and Mercutio exit, later Benvolio comes back and pronounces Mercutio dead.
- "But I’ll amerce you with so strong a fine That you shall all repent the loss of mine. I will be deaf to pleading and excuses. Nor tears nor prayers shall purchase out abuses, Therefore use none. Let Romeo hence in haste, Else, when he’s found, that hour is his last. Bear hence this body and attend our will. Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill."
- Tybalt reenter the scene and Romeo angrily approaches him. Romeo states that one of both of them are going to join Mercutio in the afterlife. the men draw their swords and start to duel. Romeo wins the fight after quickly killing off Tybalt.
- Benvolio goes to romeo after the fight warning him that the citizens of verona, on either the Capulet or Montague side will not be happy with the blood shed and he will be killed in prince escalus's order. Romeo quickly runs away to avoid conflict.
- The Montagues, Capulets, police, etc enter the scene to figure out what has happened after seeing Tybalt laying dead. After much debate and accusing, the group decide to spare Romeo only if he leaves the city of Verona to avoid conflict. If spotted again in Verona he will be executed because no one is sure what his actions could be next if he could murder.
