French Revolution Story Board: Mariah Medina

Napoleon’s Coup d’Etat- The Coup of 18 Brumaire brought General Napoleon Bonaparte to power as First Consul of France and in the view of most historians ended the French Revolution. Napoleon’s Empire- Napoléon Bonaparte was a French statesman and military leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led several successful campaigns during the French Revolutionary Wars. He was Emperor of the French as Napoleon I from 1804 until 1814 and again briefly in 1815 during the Hundred Days. He fought in lots of wars trying to expand his army and empire. Napoleon’s Fall and Exile- Napoleon goes to war and realizes that he has to surrender. So he fled away from the war in Elba with a few other men and 4 cannons. Monarchy Restored to Power- The Bourbon Restoration was the period of French history following the first fall of Napoleon in 1814, and his final defeat in the Hundred Days in 1815, until the July Revolution of 1830. The brothers of the executed Louis XVI came to power and reigned in highly conservative fashion
