The cherokee and british signed a contract. The Cherokee thought this meant they were equal and would share the land. The British thought this meant they owned the land and the Cherokee. There was 30 years of peace.

When the French and Indian war stated the Cherokee wanted to help the British. The Cherokee help up there part but when the French and Indians came to attack the Cherokee the British did not help protect them. The Cherokee felt that they had been cheated

This made the Cherokee really mad and they took belongings of the British people and their horses. The British attracted the Cherokee.
This made the cherokee want to join on the French side of the war. Later it also started another war which the cherokee lost against the British
The Cherokee had to give up lots of land because they lost.
