A hawk swooped down for some food. Kitoto the mouse dived into a bush to be safe.
Ahhh!
The River said, "I am not the most powerful, the sun is."
Kitoto wanted someone to protect him. He said to the River, "I am Kitoto the mouse, small and weak. I wish to be friends with the most powerful being, because I am scared of the hawk."
"The most powerful is definitely the wind." Sun said.
"I am kitoto the mighty, master of the savannah. I want to be friends with the most powerful." Kitoto told Sun.
"I am Kitoto the great, king of the savannah. I wish to be friends with the most powerful." Kitoto said.
Wind told Kitoto, "Well, the most powerful is the mountain, because I cannot pull him."
"The most powerful is not me. There is one who chomps at my root who I can feel, but can't see." Mountain thundered.
Kitoto said to Mountain, "I am Kitoto the magnificent, emperor of the savannah. I'd like to become friends with the most powerful one of all."
Kitoto went inside the mountain, and was very scared. "Please do not hurt me, it is only Kitoto the mouse, small and weak." He said, looking at a creepy shadow. Kitoto forgot to be strong this time.
Instead of a giant, as Kitoto expected, he met a mouse. The mouse said, "I am Kigego, the mountain mouse. Nice to meet you!"
Kitoto and Kigego became friends. "I will teach you the secrets of the ground," Kigego chuckled. "And I will teach you the secrets of the savannah," Kitoto chuckled back.
