  • Calhoun's Point of ViewSlavery- He support slavery.Tariffs- He does not support Tariff of Abominations.-He fought for states rights and wanted cheap land.-He suggested that states cancel bad laws. (Nullification Doctrine)

  • The South felt like the states should have been able to Nullify. The Southern states didn't like this because they thought it would have more benefit on the North than the South.
  • Andrew Jackson(And the North)

  • -Jackson wanted to send his troops to South Carolina to enforce federal laws.- Jackson didn't agree with Nullification Crisis because he thought it was a threat to the union.-He supported tariffs. (States' rights)THE UNION MUST COME FIRST!
  • Henry Clay
  • - He wanted both sides to be peaceful.- He accepted the Compromise Tariff of 1830.- He also saved the country from Civil War.-He was on Jackson's side about protecting the union.

  • The Nullification Crisis was resolved because Henry Clay and Calhoun made a compromise bill. Which was called the Compromise Tariff of 1833.
