טקסט Storyboard

  • What is happening to my hair?! Why am I suddenly going bald?
  • At the Dermatologist:
  • Hi, I have an appointment today!
  • Right this way! Dr. Smith will be with you in just a moment.
  • Hello, I'm Dr. Smith, I'll be treating you today! What symptoms have you been experiencing?
  • I've had sudden hair loss on my head and my nails have recently become red, brittle, and pitted.
  • Jack notices that he is losing his hair one day while looking in the mirror.
  • Uh Oh! Is there anyway it can grow back?
  • Because you've just recently began to lose your hair, I'd like to wait to see if it will regrow on its own.
  • Based off of your symptoms, it appears you have Alopecia.
  • Jack decides to make an appointment with a dermatologist to ask about his sudden hair loss.
  • What if doing nothing doesn't work?
  • I'd also like to prescribe you with topical Rogaine (Minoxidil), which is applied to the scalp to stimulate hair growth
  • If nothing seems to grow back, we can start scheduling injections of corticosteroids every 4-8 weeks to aid in regrowth. Corticosteroids is an immune system suppressor that can counteract the effects of an autoimmune disease, allowing hair to grow.
  • After Jack tells Dr. Smith his symptoms, she carefully examines the areas with hair loss, along with his fingernails. She also proceeds to ask him about his diet, his hair care routine, and if there is any family history with hair loss. Dr. Smith decides to run a blood test to further establish a secure diagnosis.
  • 2 Years Later...
  • Dr. Smith diagnoses Jack with Alopecia and gives him a treatment option.
  • Dr. Smith proceeds to prescirbe Jack with a few different treatment options that will aid in his hair regrowth. What she didn't mention are possible side effects of the treatment. Corticosteroids could potentially cause acne, increased apetite, high blood pressure, etc... Side effects of Minoxidi are rare but may include scalp redness, irritation, and the growth of facial hair.
  • After routinely recieving the injections of corticosteroids, as well as keeping up with his daily home treatment of applying Minoxidi to the affected spots 2-3 times a day, Jack notices his hair is growing back!
