- The people involved is the person receiving communion and the priest and sometimes the community. There are different 3 types of rites, in rite 1 you have to organise a time with the priest, in rite 2 you will individually confess but it will but the community will be present and in rite 3 the Priest gives a general absolution of sins after the community have reflected privately. This is in special circumstances such as war. 
- Confession: After you greet you must confess all your sins to the priest, if you are unsure of how to do this the priest will be able to help out. Penance: After you have confessed the Priest will propose an act of Penance. It may be prayer, a work of mercy, or an act of charity and counsel you on how you can live a better life. After this you are to pray an Act of Contrition.
- Absolution: The priest will then raise his hands and pronounce the words of Absolution, and the response is 'Amen.'Dismissal: The priest will conclude the sacrament, often saying, “Go in peace.”
