- Josef’s father is being taken to a concentration camp for breaking Nazi law as a Jew.
- Josef and his family are reunited but have to leave Germany
- It’s amazing to see you again. We have tickets for the train. We can finally leave.
- No! They will find us that way. We take the ship.
- I just wish he was celebrating with us.
- You are 13 today Josef, finally a man. Me and your father are very proud.
- Today you turn 13 Josef, finally a man. Me and your father are very proud
- Josef and his family are on a ship to Cuba. Despite his father intense paranoia the family is still hopeful.
- The ship arrives to Cuba. Durning the health inspection Josef slaps his father in order to get him to calm down.
- Josef and his family were denied by both Cuba and America. After a while though his mother sister and himself were excepted into France. However his father has to stay in a hospital in Cuba due to a suicide attempt.
- In 1940 Germany invaded France. Josef and his family were caught by Nazis. To save his mother and sister Josef volunteered himself to go to the concentration camp. Because of this his sister lived
