  • Once upon a time, in a cozy little town by the ocean, lived two magical twins named El Niño and La Niña. They were no ordinary kids; they had the power to change the weather!

  • El Niño was a playful boy with a sunny smile. When he was happy, the ocean water would become warm, and he would bring lots of rain and storms to different places.

  • La Niña was his cheerful sister with a cool, calm demeanor. When she was happy, the ocean water would become cool, and she would bring dry and calm weather to places.

  • One sunny morning, El Niño and La Niña woke up feeling extra energetic. They decided it was the perfect day for an adventure to teach their friends about how they change the weather.

  • First, they visited their friend Sammy the Seagull. Sammy loved flying in the warm wind.

  • The author, Nadia, is a senior from Francis Lewis High School taking AP Environmental Science in Ms. Passarella's 8th period class. The illustrator, Baqir, is a junior and taking the same course. Through their efforts in APES they learnt enough to create this book.
