- Berlin Blockade
- When WW2 ended, Germany was divivded into 4 zones, the United states, France, Great Bitian, and Germany were controlling the zones.When the US, France, and Great Britian decided to merge their zones-1948-to form a new country, Germany wasn't happy with their decision. Germany didn't agree with their decision because they were gonna make this new Germany a democratic government and capitalist economy. The soviets started this blockade to get the allies to withdraw their idea of a west Germany state or Berlin altogether.The blockade made sure nothing could get in and nothing could get out. President Truman of the US sent over planes full of food, supplies, and fuel to stop this blockade.In the spring of 1949 the soviets stopped the blockade when they failed to police them and US' committment to resist communist expansion payed off.
