- The lady took a cigarette from the table and to please her Horace took off his gloves gave her his cigarette lighter.
- No problem, my husband will not be there for a month, I'll have the safe mended by that time.
- Before we left for London, I promised my husband to take my jewels to our bank; but I left them here in the safe. I want to wear them to a party tonight, so I came to get them but..
- Yes...
- But you've forgotten the numbers to open the safe haven't you?
- Anything you say.
- Just leave it to me you'll have them within an hour. But I'll have to break the safe....

- Within an hour Horace had opened the safe and given her the jewels.
- Till two days he kept the promise done to the young lady. But on the third day wondered how he would buy the books and started planning another robbery. But he couldn't execute the plan as he was arrested by a policeman by noon for the jewel robbery at Shotover Grange. He had done the theft without gloves therefore, his fingerprints were all over the room.
- Sir but I did everything on the house owner's wife's orders.
- No one believed Horace's statement that the house owner's wife asked him to open the safe for her. When enquired the grey-haired, sharp-tongued, original house owner lady said that the story was nonsense. Horace got to know that the young,clever lady who tricked him was in the same profession as him and wasn't the original houseowner.
- Horace is now an Assistant Librarian in the prison. He gets very angry when anyone talks about 'Honour among thieves'.
- Hey! never ever say that word in front of me, it would be good for you!!!
- I think the 'Honour among thieves' should be given to you, Rudy.
