- The film begins with a boy name P.T Barnum and a girl named Charity. Barnum comes from a poor family and Charity is from a rich and well family. Her parents would rather she doesn't marry Barnum, since he is poor, but she ends up with him. They end up living a bit poor, but happy they have each other.
- ClimaxTightrope
- P.T Barnum and Charity end up having 2 daughters. Barnum decides to open up a museum, but the sales are not good. Barnum then decides to transform it into a circus, featuring people who are a bit different looking. The sales end up improving and sky rocket, and Barnum's circus is a hit. However, some people have a bit of a different view, and think Barnum's people are "freaks". Barnum also hires a man named Phillip to help him in exchange for 10% of the sales.
- Falling ActionFrom Now On
- P.T Barnum eventually goes to see the queen of England, where he meets a singer named Jenny Lind. Barnum hires Jenny to sing and they end up becoming a hit. Barnum then doesn't let his circus mates celebrate with him and Jenny. The circus people then rebel and don't listen to Barnum. Barnum then decides that he is doing better with Jenny Lind rather than the circus.

- P.T Barnum decides that he should have a world tour with Jenny since he is making better money there. Barnum has a small fight with his wife who doesn't want him to go and says he should stay with the circus, which he declines. Barnum leaves his circus mates and his family, with Phillip in charge. Barnum and Jenny travel around, but they end up fighting and Jenny leaves on the tour without Barnum. With nothing left, Barnum returns home. Meanwhile, some people say that Phillip and the circus need to leave the town. Phillip and the circus mates rebel back, and they end up having a physical fight. One man gets thrown and finds a lamp, and with that he decides to start a fire. Barnum returns and finds it on fire.. Phillip believes that a performer is still inside. Phillip then goes in to save her but she eventually escapes. Barnum then goes in to save Phillip. Phillip and Barnum come out alive, but Phillip is severely burned. The circus also crashes down, confirming it is now left in ruins.
- Barnum realizes that he does not have enough money and time to reconstruct the museum and that he has abandoned his circus people. Eventually he goes to a bar and there the circus people meet him and forgive him. Then Barnum decides the show must go on and he rents a tent. He then decides to hold the show there.
- Barnum and the Circus perform and end up being a hit. Barnum then runs behind the stage and tosses his ringleader staff to Phillip. When asked why, he states Phillip must be the new ringleader as Barum wants to care for his family. Phillip then takes Barnum's place on the stage, while Barnum runs to his family, ending the story.
