- This is Chirp the bird. Chirp flies around and looks for food all day. His main spot to find food the bridge over the river. Chirp is also very good at math and uses Trigonometry to determine his flying paths.

- Chirp realizes that the bridge is 50 ft. away at an angle of 55 degrees. Chirp wants to know how tall the top of the bridge is from where he is . He uses trigonometry to do this. The equation he uses will be tan(55) x 50 equals 71.407. He will need to be 71.4 feet in the air to reach the top of the bridge.

- Lets say chirp wanted to find out how far away he is from the base of the bridge instead from a different rock. He knows the bridge is 71.5 ft tall but now it is at an angle of 75 degrees with a hypotenuse of 102.8. Using trig he finds that sin(75)=71.4/X equals 73.9. The base of the bridge is 73.9 ft away from his new position.

- Now that chirp knows the height and the length of the bridge lets see how long the hypotenuse flight would be. Once again he will use trig to find this. His equation is cos(73.9/1-2.8) and this equals 102.8
