Sif, the beautiful wife of Thor, had long thick beautiful golden hair. One day Sif fell asleep under the warm sun.

Sif was sleeping heavily , she could not hear Loki approach. Loki, being the cunning trickster he is, cuts off Sif's golden locks.

Loki runs away from the scene, leaving Sif with no hair.

Once Sif woke up, she was horrified at the state of her hair. Her long golden locks had been cut off!
Thor was furious when he found out about Sif's hair. He threatened violence against Loki if he did not find a way to restore Sif's hair. Loki claims that he knows how to replace Sif's hair and is off to Niðavellir the home of dwarves.
