The Battle of The Somme begins on July 1st 1916 on the upper reaches of the river Somme in France
How are they not dead yet!?
They must have some sort of underground hide out
Artillery, Machine Guns, Gas, Tanks and Rifles were used during the battle
On the 24th June the British launched a week long artillery bombardment on the Germans
What is that?
I don’t know!
The British thought their bombardment killed the Germans but they were hiding in underground bunkers
19,240 men were killed on the first day
The tank was used for the first time during the Battle of Somme
