- EXPOSITION/PROTAGONIST
- I know it is time, but I don´t want to let her to go!
- CONFLICT/ANTOGNIST
- You are special, you are ¨Divergent¨ just like me. You will be in danger if anyone finds out!!
- What?!!
- RISING ACTION
- You better fight for your rank... I am going to win!
- Beatrice Potter, the Protagonist of the book Divergent, is brave, curious and struggles with her identify. She lives in a futuristic society that is divided into 5 factions or groups. Beatrice grew up in the society of Abnegation. Because she is 16, she must now decide which group she belongs in based on her personality (Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless or Erudite.)
- CLIMAX
- The main conflict occurs after Beatrice receives her test to help place her in a faction. She learns that she is special or ¨Divergent.¨ Beatrice has traits from all the factions. This not only makes her decision more difficult, but she cannot tell anyone about her gifts because she would be in danger, especially from Janine Matthews the antagonist and ruler of the futuristic society they all live in.
- FALLING ACTION
- Forced to make a choice, Beatrice has chosen the faction Dauntless. As she changes factions, she also changes her identify, and becomes known as ¨Tris.¨ Tris makes friends but while fighting for her ranking in her faction, she also makes some major enemies. Her fighting instructor helps her become a better fighter and looks our for her. They begin to like each other.
- RESOLUTION
- We need to get out of here. We have a long fight ahead of us!!
- After becoming an official member of the Dauntless faction, the members of the group were all injected with a serum that controlled them and made them listen to orders like mindless soldiers. Divergents were unaffected, including Tris and Four, but they had to blend in and be part of the attack on Abnegation. Tris could not attack her family and exposed herself as DIvergent to protect her family and Four from being killed. Unfortunately, her mom was killed , while Tris and Four got captured by Janine Matthews, the protagonist and leader of Erudite.
- Tris escapes after she was ordered to be drowned and returns to the Dauntless headquarters with her dad and two of her friends, Caleb and Marcus. Tris is able to take over the control room and free Four and the Dauntless soldiers from the serum;s control. Janine is stopped for the time being.
- Tris, Four and the members of Dauntless that are considered friends, ran away from the city. Their plan was to hang out with Amity while they figure out how to fight Erudite and free themselves from Janinieś control.
