- Good morning kids! I have good news. You both have been chosen to represent the school at a field trip to the farm tomorrow. Hope to see you there

- Kids, this is Mr. Brown. He has graciously opened up his farm to us today
- Come on kids! Let me take you on a visit to the farm
- Yay!! Let's go
- Sure! My farm is of moderate size only, however, the farming is done intensively.
- Kids, this is my farm. I practice Mixed farming, in which I do crop cultivation as well as animal rearing in the same farm
- Wow! That's amazing. Can you tell us more about the features of your farm?
- That's interesting.. What about farming techniques? Also, what kind of crops do you grow?
- Great question! We use Crop Rotation technique in my farm as it does a great job in maintaining the soil fertility by replenishing nutrients. We also grow crops like wheat, barley etc as well as root crops (turnips), legumes (peas) and fodder crops (alfalfa). Now kids, let me show you something more interesting..
- Also, our farming is done in developed regions like Western Europe, Russia etc. and hence, we use a lot of modern machinery, better quality seeds and fertilizers.
- You're right! We grow these animals for their meat as well as other products.
