- Hey Tuna, glad you could meet me before the game. I'm very sad today. My dad got diagnosed with ALS and I don't knw if football is for me anymore.
- Why would you say football isn't for you? What's the conflict here?
- My dad most likely got ALS from all his football injuries. I don't want to end up like that. My dilemma is if it's worth playing football, is it safe and is the price you pay just too high?
- Ok that doesn't mean you will get ALS just because your dad did. I know it's scary to watch your dad like that but you never know the future.
- I get it, but I've already been injured a few times. This is my last season in the junior leagues and I just think after this season my time is up.
- I think it's a hard decision to make and maybe you should discuss this with your family as well.
- A FEW DAYS LATER.....
- You sounded serious on the phone. What's up?
- I made a decision. I know I love the game, but the price to pay is too high. I have decided, this is my final season!
- I just can't end up like my dad. It's too hard to watch him suffer like he does. You will always be my good friend Tuna.
