- Maybe I should cut and donate my hair to make a little bit of money.
- Della wants to buy her husband a nice gift with one day until Christmas.

- I made the money but what if Jim doesn't like my hair.
- Della realizes she only had a $1.87 left over to buy Jim's Christmas present. She was very sad and she was sobbing on the floor.

- Della tries her best to raise money for his gift and she think about cutting and donating her hair.

- Here is a chain for your watch.
- Oh! I sold my watch to buy your gift.
- Della ends up cutting her hair and donating it to get money for Jim's gift.
- With the money she buys Jim a chain for his watch that has been passed down from his grandfather.
- Could I get a chain for a watch.
- Della give Jim the gift just to find out that He had sold his watch to buy her gift because he loved her so much.
