  • Fair is foul, and foul is fairHover through fog and filthy air
  • For brave Macbeth-well he deserves that Disdaining fortune with his brandished steel
  • All Hail Macbeth and Banquo
  • Into the air; and what seem'd corporal melted
  • Three witches hatch a plan
  • Glamis thou art, and Cawdor and shalt be what thou art promis'd: yet do I fear thy nature is too full o' the milk of human kindness
  • I am settled, and bend upEach corporal agent to this terrible feat. Away, and mock the time with fairest show:False face must hide what the false heart doth know
  • Woe, alas! What, in our house?
  • Macbeth is well respected for his bravery and honor
  • Dear Duff, I pr'ythee, contradict thyself, and say it isn't so
  • O , Banquo, Banquo! Our royal master's murder'd!
  • The witches appear to Macbeth and Banquo and tell them that Macbeth will be king and Banquo will be the father of kings.
  • Thou hast it now,-king, Cawdor, Glamis, all as the weird women promised.....but I myself should be the root and father of many kings. If there come some truth from them--But, hush; no more
  • Lady Macbeth encourages her husband to kill Duncan and fulfill the witches prophecy and take his place as king
  • Duncan has been killed (by Macbeth although that is not known) and the people mourn. Lady Macbeth pretends to be shocked.
  • Banquo thinks to himself that if the witches prophecy for Macbeth is now true, will it be true that he become father of kings
