Do you know what I was talking about? Or were you to focused on your device
No sir, I don't know what you were talking about.
He told me to go in front of the class and take my phone with me
Mia here is going to show us an example of Apps knowing about what we search up
I wasn't really paying attention and was on my phone
He told me to go to Siri and ask three things about the same topic
When i noticed him, he looked mad, I quickly turned off my phone and looked down at my desk
When I had asked all three questions, he told me to go onto instagram
Instagram
Everyone was silent when I walked up, nobody wanted to get in trouble like I did
He told me I could go back to my desk
And that is a perfect example on apps always listening and watching you when your online
I chose to ask Siri questions about the ocean, since I already knew the answer to them.
Hey siri, what is the deepest part of the ocean?
I went onto Instagram, went to the explore page and sure enough, the first few things on my feed were about the ocean, the app had noticed that I was Interested in the topic and put it in there so I would be interested.
OCEANLOVERS- New studies show that ocean animals are more intelligant than we though
I didn't fully understand how it works, but I then understood that apps collect data for us constantly and that that's how "explore pages" work
