- I do not have money, but I will make sure I'll get it.
- I will give you the money, but only under one condition.
- If you don't pay me 6,000 Ducats after 10 days, I will take a pound of your flesh.
- What is the condition?
- Shylock, can you give me 3,000 Ducats?
- Bassanio is a person who wanted to marry Portia in Belmont, but the problem is that he did not have any money to impress Portia's father, so he went to visit Antonio, who is a good business man and a close friend to Bassanio.
- In Belmont
- I have got 3,000 Ducats. Is that enough?
- WOW! That is a lot of money Bassanio. Okay, I will give my daughter to you
- Bassanio explained his problem to Antonio, but he did not have money because his ships were far at sea and all his money was on the ship. Antonio thought of asking Shylock the Moneylender but he did not know what was in store for him.
- Antonio asked Shylock the Moneylender for 3,000 Ducats but Shylock was a greedy man that he gave the money but under a condition to Antonio that it will include blood and murder. Antonio was about to disagree to Shylock but he understood that he had to help his friend in need, so he agreed to Shylock's word and took the money.
- WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MURDER SOMEONE!
- Bassanio was so happy that Antonio got 3,000 Ducats, so he went to Belmont and Portia's mom and dad were so surprised with how much money Bassanio got. They agreed with the money and gave Portia to Bassanio.
- Bassanio and Portia were married after ten days, but on the other side, Antonio did not pay Shylock the money and he was getting his knife ready to cut a pound of flesh
- Bassanio, Portia and Jessica-who is Portia's friend went outside and saw Shylock taking his knife and putting it in front of Antonio, who is sobbing and thinking why he had not paid the money. The three were shocked to see someone murdering, so they went and shouted at Shylock about why he was hurting someone. Shylock apologized to Antonio and he set him free.
