  • How Freud Sees Me
  • How Costa and McCrae See Me
  • How Adler Sees Me
  • Freud proposed the theory of defense mechanisms relating to psychoanalytic psychology. He believed that that these mechanisms happened in all people unconsciously. The defense mechanism I have shown is sublimation, which is transferring unacceptable impulses to socially acceptable impulses. If I was having a bad day, going through something, or I was angry, I would look to soccer instead of taking it out on other people.
  • How Bandura Sees Me
  • He is a terrible teacher, that's why I did so bad on the test.
  • Costa and McCrae believed in the Big 5 Theory- five personality traits that appear to be inherited/appear at an early age. This visual is showing the extraversion trait of the Big 5, that was passed down and inherited from my both parents. Most of my entire family holds this trait. I have always been sociable, outgoing, enthusiastic, and I gain energy from interacting with others.
  • How Eysenck Sees Me
  • Alfred Adler believes in sibling influences (birth order) and feelings of inferiority. The birth order theory is the order in which a child was born impacted our personality. I am the last born child and they have traits of being agreeable, funny, and outgoing. I think I hold these traits.
  • How Jung Sees Me
  • Bandura proposes the idea of social-cognitive theories. The one I am illustrating here is the external locus of control- we picture that a force outside of ourselves controls our fate. I am blaming my math teacher for the reason I did poorly on the test and that it was not my fault.
  • Eysenck believed that there were 3 different personality factors- extraversion/introversion, neuroticism/ego, and stability/instability. I feel that I am an extrovert because I have a lot of energy and I get most of it from being with other people (the outside world), I am outgoing and love to socialize.
  • Carl Jung Idea's revolved around the archetypes of collective unconscious- common bank of images/symbols shared by all cultures. I had a dream about being on a rollercoaster that was never ending and had many twists and turns, but then it finally ended. This may be a sign that even though life has many twists and turns, there is an end, with a light at the end of it.
