  • Culture according to Seiji(and other sources of course)
  • Even though I have 3 different nationalities, and have visited more than 20 different countries, there has always been that question of: What really defines culture?
  • I really think the main defining trait of a culture is based on ethnicity and geographical location
  • There are thousands of cultures, and every single person is part of one in some way or another. This leaves a huge space for us to pin point an exact definition for "culture"
  • I say we dive deeper in to what exactly defines a culture and what tells it apart from others
  • By: Sonia Nieto
  • The Light in their Eyes: Creating Multicultural Learning Communities
  • This book seems to talk about culture and seems really interesting, lets have a deeper look
  • Just like other peoples definition of culture, including mine, it is really far off from what we perceive, it is way more deeper than what it seems and it is defined by MANY factors
  • First, Culture is constantly changing based on how we advance as a human race, we can with certainty say that for example, the culture that our parents grew up in is totally different from ours.
  • Culture can is heterogenous and it is greatly influenced by the context someone has lived in, in a socially, economically or politically. As much as we think otherwise, there's way more things that influences a culture based on context alone.
  • Hygge
  • Culture can be manifested in so many different ways, and it even may create things so unique like the word "Hygge" on Norway, and it is completely influences by context and in some way learned and passed down through generations
  • And Cultures have became so unique that some times ripping off certain things off a culture with a malicious intent or based in profiting could be something of great controversy.
  • To conclude everything, my perspective on culture not only has it been broaden but it has also make me realize on how big culture and we don't realize this, because we can superficially define culture as just arts, customs and every manifestation of intellectual capacities of a certain group, but it engulfs A LOT of things and is defined and shaped by A LOT of things as well. Books like Sonia's have really opened my mind in to knowing that everything and every person has its different roots and culture.
