- It was summer break, and Raina and her family were getting ready for their family reunion.
- At dinner, Raina and her sister Amara were arguing. Their mother sent them to their rooms to pack for their trip.
- The next morning, their dad helped them to load up the van to go to Colorado Springs. They had to drive from San Francisco, California to Colorado Springs.
- There was a big thunderstorm.
- So Mom, Raina, Amara, and Will stopped in Nevada and stayed at a motel.
- The next morning, they drove through Nevada to Utah. Mom stopped so Will can see the Dinosaur Exhibit.
- When they arrived at their Aunt Mary’s house in Colorado, everyone was happy to see each other. Raina played cards and hung out with the big kids, and Amara drew pictures.
- Raina was upset because her cousin Lindsay did not really remember her and made fun of her and tried to talk to Amara.
- When it was time to leave, Amara gave all of her cousins a drawing. They were happy and this madeRaina mad.
- On the way home, the van broke down. Mom and Will hitched a ride into town to find a tow truck while Raina and Amara stayed in the van.
- It took them four hours to come back. Raina and Amara were so excited to see their mom and Will come back.
- Their mom apologized for leaving them in the van, but Raina and Amara were fine with it because they learned to share with each other.
