- I was born in October 1943 in England. My father was away at war in Baghdad.I have an older brother called Peiter
- After I got married, I went to university and became a teacher.I loved reading stories to the children.
- I ran out of books to read to the children so I started writing my own.The first book I wrote was called “it never rained : five stories.
- My children,my wife Clare and I moved to Iddelsleigh, where we set up a charity called farms for children.
- On a trip to Ypres with Clare ,already intended on writing a novel. But I still had no name for my fictional character.
- Walking down the line of headstones I found my soldiers name “Peaceful”.
