  • In exchange for a taste of your blood,#160; I'll only speak truthfully to you of your upcoming journey.
  • After nine days of being blown by harsh winds, Odysseus and his men had been blown to the island of the Lotus-Eaters where he sent off three of his men to meet the natives, but after eating the flower they had lost all desire to return home and only had the will to browse the native flower. He had then taken the disoriented men and tied them down under their rowing benches and sailed away from the island.
  • The Sirens
  • After discovering an island inhabited by cyclopes, Odysseus and 12 of his best fighters to meet with a cyclops, hoping for hospitality. Instead. the cyclops was hostile and ate some of his men, so he got the cyclops drunk and blinded him in his sleep. In the morning when the cyclops wen to take out his sheep, Odysseus and his men escaped and took the sheep by hiding under the sheep and sailed away.
  • Scylla and Charybdis
  • After Circe told him to travel to the land of the dead to meet with the prophet Tiresias, Odysseus arrives to Hades and makes offerings to the blurred and breathless dead, and swore to sacrifice a black lamb and give up some of his blood to Tiresias. Afterwards, he tells Odysseus of his upcoming endeavors and what choices he should make, and how he will end up at the end of it,
  • The Cattle of Apollo
  • On his way to Circe's island, he encounters the Sirens, creatures that lure sailors and ships to rocks and therefore, their death. When Odysseus and his crew approached Circe's Island, Odysseus put beeswax on their ears so that they would not hear the song. However, Odysseus wanted to hear the song, so he instructed his crew to tie him to the mast of his ship so that he wouldn't have any control over the ships direction. As the Sirens tried to reach the ship they plummeted into the sea and drowned. At the end of this ordeal, Odysseus' crew untied him, took off the wax, and continued their voyage.
  • After sailing away from Circe's Island, they are met with Charybdis. A dangerous whirlpool that threatens to destroy the entire ship. Following Circe's instructions Odysseus stayed close against the cliff of Scylla's lair, but while their focused-on Charybdis, Scylla appeared and ate six sailors. Odysseus could do nothing but keep sailing and try to escape while Scylla ate more of his men. Eventually they escaped but at a great cost.
  • As Odysseus and his men travel the sea, they run out of food and start to starve on an island. Odysseus goes to pray to the gods, but they make him fall asleep. While he is asleep, Eurylochus convinces the men to eat some of Lord Helios's cattle. Once Lord Helios finds out, he tells Zeus to punish them. While traveling through the ocean, Zeus strikes a thunderbolt right on their ship, causing everybody to fall off into the ocean.
