  • Hi! Today, I'll show you how our planet's internal structure works.
  • UPPER MANTEL
  • MANTEL
  • CRUST
  • OUTER CORE
  • INNER CORE
  • This is how the earth's interior structure appears.
  • This is the center of the universe. The inner core is made of solid iron and nickel alloy and has a diameter of 2,600 kilo meters. It also has a temperature of about 5,000 degrees Celsius. The next layer, the outer layer, is 250 percent hotter than this layer.
  • The outer core is this one. It has a thickness of 250 kilo meters and a temperature of around 2,000 degrees Celsius. Molten iron and nickel alloy are used to create it.
  • DID YOU KNOW? The "Lehmann discontinuity" marks the transition between the inner and outer cores. It was named after Danish seismologist Inge Lehmann, who found that the outer core is molten while the inner core is solid.
  • The mantle is something like this. The mantle is the layer between the crust and the core that is primarily made up of solid rocks. The earth's mantle makes up 80% of its volume and 68 percent of its mass.
  • DID YOU KNOW?Mantle has a temperature that range of 15,000 degrees Celsius to 30,000 degrees Celsius, this one has a thickness of around 2,900 kilo meters. Silicate rocks, especially silicon, iron, oxygen, and magnesium, make up the structure. Mantle has 3 Regions- Upper mantle that has thickness of 670km.-Transition Zone-Lower Mantle that has thickness of 2,230km.
