- It's 8:30! Time to join the first zoom class.
- First day of school on zoom is a new experience for both Annie and John.
- I'm just about to join mine!
- Ugh! I can't join the meeting!
- One obstacle they have to face is trying connect to the meeting.
- My meeting is so laggy! I don't understand a word of what Mr. James is saying.
- I don't feel like turning on the camera or audio this morning. I feel so uncomfortable staring at myself on the screen.
- Another obstacle is having to face distractions and anxiety during the meeting.
- Agreed. But I'm just glad that zoom finally started working smoothly.
- Annie! Go unload the dishwasher!
- Mom! I'm in class right now!
- At-home obstacles and distractions are also constant struggles, even with the audio muted and camera off.
- Annie, can you be a bit more quiet? I'm trying to focus on what Mr. James is saying.
- Solution 1: to allow students to choose if they want to work on their own with an optional video conferencing support or to follow the mandatory meetings schedule.
- I like studying by myself and having my own schedule. If I have a question, I'll contact Mr. James to schedule a meeting.
- Really? Well I prefer to listen to Mr. James explain the work more thoroughly in meetings.
- Solution 2: to give students an option of going back to the traditional way of learning while still taking the neccessary precautions and guidelines of safety.
