- For fourteen years, she worked for Jasmine Hadley as a member of household staff, and became close friends with her. However, when she failed to provide an alibi to Kamal, Jasmine sacked Meggie, causing significant financial hardship to her family.
- It's the first day of school. Four noughts including Callum are at their new school - Heathcroft, but the Crosses won't let them in. Sephy betrays Callum by using the word ' blankers'.
- Y-You KNEW this was going to happen!
- Lynette realised that she was a nought and regained her sanity. She couldn't cope with knowing that she was second class and without her true love, Jed. So decided to commit suicide by walking in front of a bus.
- Callum why didn't you come?
- Callum's elder brother, Jude, and his father, Ryan, join the Liberation Militia (L.M.). A violent paramilitary organisation against Cross supremacy. They joined the L.M. to protect their family from the Cross community.
- The Liberation Militia have planted a bomb at the Dundale Shopping Centre. Callum goes to the shopping centre to save Sephy. Sephy assumes that Callum is a part of the planting of the bomb, when Jude was the one who warned him.
- Sephy decides, she'll attend Chivers Boarding School. But writes a letter to Callum saying that he is the only one that can prevent her from going. Callum recieves the letter too late and cannot reach her in time.
