- Stop, thief! said Mrs. Cora.
- The next day...
- Yeah! Anthony replied.
- Are you ready? Miguel yelled.
- We were born ready! exclaimed Manny.
- Macombs Dam Park
- Later, Carlos and Miguel are eating at McDonalds.
- I don't need reminding, said Miguel.
- I know you don't, Carlos replied. You just have to keep at the front of your brain that the bigger the games, the bigger the spotlight.
- Yeah! Manny said happily.
- Do you want to hang? Miguel asked.
- Are you just asking me to play? Ellie said.
- Miguel and Manny are playing baseball, when suddenly a shy girl approaches them.
- STAN'S WORLD
- Manny tells Miguel that Mr. Lima, an Official Persons, wants to take a picture with him and his father. But the truth is that Miguel's father is gone.
- Anyways, Manny said, Mr. Lima wants to see you because you're a hero.
- I'm not sure that's exactly how the guy does it, the Yankee guy, Miguel said.
- The Clippers go on the bus to compete against the Westchester South Giants.
- I sound exactly like the Yankee commentator and you know it, Manny said.
- Mr. Minaya told Miguel not to throw a curveball, but Miguel did it. Justin, who was the batter, missed it and was angry.
- Play ball! the umpire said.
- Justin, who is now the pitcher, decides to get revenge as he throws a fast ball and knocks Miguel in the helmet.
- They decided that until a proper birth certificate is on file, you are not eligible to play, Mr. Minaya said.
- Unfortunately, after the Clippers win the game, Mr. Minaya, the coach for the Clippers, has bad news for Miguel.
- After the game, Miguel sat in his empty, dark apartment. Never in his life had he felt so alone.
- After upsetting Ellie, Miguel goes to see Mrs. Cora and she notices something was on his mind. He explains everything.
- Even though Miguel can't play baseball with his team, he still likes to practice pitching in the alleyway.
- Later, Miguel goes to Yankee Stadium to try and catch a glimpse of his hero, El Grande, a famous pitcher for the Yankees.
- It's Ellie... Miguel said, in total disbelief.
- Ellie is El Grande's daughter? Manny said, bewildered at the sight of Ellie.
- Miguel and Manny are at Miguel's apartment when suddenly, it is revealed that Ellie is El Grande's daughter.
- Why didn't you tell us you were El Grande's daughter? Miguel asked, upset.
- Upset, Ellie walked away from Miguel and Manny.
- ...
- Think about your happy endings, little one, said Mrs. Cora.
- Miguel and Manny plan to trick Mr. Gibbs, a ACS administrator, into thinking that Miguel's dad is still alive. They plan this by hiring Manny's Uncle Timo.
- How do you do, sir, I am Victor Arroyo, Uncle Timo greeted in an identical voice to that of Miguel's father.
- Be ready to run home, said Miguel.
- Mr. Minaya tells Miguel to coach third base to help him feel like he is playing with his team. Miguel calls a play to help the Clippers win the game against the Robins.
- When he puts the ball in play? asked Maria.
- After a Clippers game, which Miguel spectated, he sees Ramon, the purse thief, and Carlos being apprehended by the police outside the Yankee Stadium.

- It's the Clippers against the Westchester South Giants in the semifinals. The game was not going well for the Clippers.
- Suddenly, Justin stopped in his tracks and stared over to the bleachers. There was El Grande and Ellie! El Grande gives Miguel his birth certificate and is officially permitted into the game. Clippers come back to win the game.
- Oh yeah! Manny said.
- Miguel and Manny are so excited for today's baseball game! It's the District 22 Finals at Yankee Stadium. Dreams do come true!
- Ellie asked, You guys ready to see the field?
