  • How the King Escaped and got Executed
  • There were 3 estates, plus a King who was in charge of the country. These consisted of the first estate, the clergy who were the richest group and had a lot of land which was fair as they had churches and gave a lot to charities and schools. There was also the second estate, with knights who still didn't have to pay taxes and owned quite a bit of the land. The third estate was the worst, making up the majority of the population but the least of the land. Louis XVI was married to Marie Antionette and they owned the rest of the land and a lot of money. The revolution started when there was a bad crop year and the price of bread grew because it cost so much for wheat.
