  • As a trade union organizer, I get to go into the workplace and set up training courses for employees who've not joined a union but are having problems at work or with their employers.

  • I work hand in hand with head office to identify new recruitment areas and to come up with recruitment incentives.

  • I am a trade union organizer. I am here to recruit members to join our organization, we will represent you with any disputes that might occur within the workplace.
  • An organizer's responsibilities include recruiting all non-members and members of other unions to join their own union. Where necessary, to represent personnel in injustices, disciplinary hearings, conciliations, and arbitration proceedings. To be familiar enough with the union's structure to direct complaints or inquiries to the appropriate union channels.
  • Representative Union
  • -They should know enough about the Union's structure to route complaints and inquiries from members and trade union representatives through the proper union channels.-Explain to members the various benefits they recieve as part of their monthly donations.-Improve the corporate image of the union- Inform the media, liaison, and communication officers of daily movements.
  • Majority Unions
  • Unions represent the majority of workers (50% plus 1%).If there are 1000 employees on the shop floor, I will need to recruit 500+1=501 workers to join the union as a union organiser.

  • Organisational Rights
  • The trade union has notified you as the employer of the organisational rights in question; you have 30 days to respond in order to schedule a meeting.
  • The organisational rights:-The ability to perform balloting on the premises of the employer-Fees for membership must be pre-oredered-Time off for union office-bearers to undertake office-related responsibilities-increased time off for shop stewards' training.
  • As the union organiser, if there are 1000 workers on the shop floor, I must recruit 333 workers in order for management to recognise the trade union.
  • There are additional organizational rights afforded to them by the LRA act section 14.-appoint shop stewards-demand information disclosure-establish a closed shop or agency shop agreement.
  • The trade union should notify the employer in written form of the disputed organisational rights. It should also show evidence of registration and representativeness. The employer has 30 days to reply and schedule a union meeting. If the employer tries to deny or doubts the union's representation in the workplace, the matter may be brought before the CCMA.
