  • The Colonist marched to Bunker Hill to defend their base, Boston.Even though there were fewer Americans killed and wounded the British were able to push back the Americans winning the Battle.
  • SARATOGA
  • While the British troops were sleeping off their Christmas feasts the Americans captured 868 British troops without losing a single American.

  • The British led by General William Howe tried to take over New york. The Americans led by George Washington rush to NY to defend it. By the end of the battle, the British had won 300 Americans killed and 64 British killed.
  • YORK TOWN
  • we yield all forces
  • George Washington revised his plan to win the war, making his strategy more defensive and trying to tire the British out. at this battle, the Americans would pop out, shoot, and run across and hide again leading to a win for the Americans. This is an important battle because it showed other people like the French that the Americans had a chance at winning this war leading to the French becoming more involved with the war.
  • Though this battle was not against the British the Americans lost this one do the bad weather and not enough supplies and food. Soldiers would eat the leather off of their shoes just to eat somthing.

  • With the French now on the American side they were able to obtain more materials and surround the British with boats on the river and the Americans on land. The Americans starved the British out until they surrendered. This battle was important because the British had now lost the war and America was not its own coutry.
