Estes valley was created millions of years ago during glacier retreat carving a path through the rock creating this valley.

Over there is another important feature in this park. That over there is the tallest peak in the national park. We call it Longs Peak.

Longs Peak and all other mountains and most of this park was created when long ago a ancient tectonic plate slipped under the north American plate causing these mountains to form.
Also did you know that Copper has reddish brown color and has a metallic luster. Also its commonly used in wires.

The most predominant rock, Schist, is a metamorphic rock. this means that before all of the schist were created, first mudstone, a sedimentary rock went through intense heat and pressure to become all of this schist you see aorund here.
