- Its taken about 3 hours, but I have finally hiked from my house all the way to this park!
- Hey kid what's your name? I'm Scarlett.
- I do work here. I'm a park ranger who works here at the glorious Rocky Mountains National Park located in Colorado.
- Hi Scarlett, I'm Dave. I was just up her admiring the view do you work here?
- Sure Dave. So here we have a mine. In the rocky mountain s mining is very common. The most predominate mineral we mine here is copper.
- Can you show me around the national park a little bit. And teach me some interesting facts.
- That's Awesome!
- Also did you know that Copper has reddish brown color and has a metallic luster. Also its commonly used in wires.
- Wow, I never knew that.
- You seem to know every last thing about this place.
- At the Rocky Mountains there is also a ton of different types of rocks. But the most common type of rock found here is Schist.
- Thanks.
- The most predominant rock, Schist, is a metamorphic rock. this means that before all of the schist were created, first mudstone, a sedimentary rock went through intense heat and pressure to become all of this schist you see aorund here.
- That must have been intense.
