- When a government fails, the wealthy focus on protecting themselves, not the common people.

- "Let it be written that our confederation will give the majority of government power to its own states."
- All legal citizens have the right to vote on their governmental representatives.

- The majority of government power is committed to its individual states, therefore a confederation has a weak central government.
- Each citizen's vote matters in a democracy. The winning candidate of an election depends on who has the most votes from citizens.
