Texte du Storyboard

  • that's called the area of proximal development!
  • can anybody remind me of what the area connecting what a child can do with no help, and what a child may need some help with is called?
  • Really? I thought that was called scaffolding?
  • How does it piece together?
  • Exactly bob!
  • very close Bob! Scaffolding is the theory that learning with someone more experience helps children develop!
  • and this all ties into guided participation. When a child is guided by an adult to participate in adultlike activities? almost like intersubjectivity?
  • Hey!! I couldn't help but overhear you guys talking about Vygotsky. Do you know about his thoughts on language
  • Well, Vygotsky believed that the learning and growth of children happened when a person with more abilities then them, guided them in tasks in their current abilities. He thought culture had a massive effect on a Childs development.
  • and next comes private speech right? where a child talks to themselves out loud to guide themselves?
  • Vygotsky said that children have something called external speech from birth to 3
  • external speech is how babies get across a point, like happiness, hunger, and small requests.
  • someone's been doing homework
  • wow that's really all there is to it? hey.... where is Mrs. V
  • then there's inner speech, that little voice in your head you hear when you think. its a silent dialogue with yourself!
  • meanwhile, Mrs. B fulfilled her lifelong dream of being an astronaut
