Portland, Oregon is known as the "City of Roses." It got the name when a large variety of pink roses were introduced to the city in 1888. The Portland Rose Festival, which began in 1907, is an annual event.
Oregon has the most ghost towns in the United States. A ghost town doesn't actually have ghosts, it's an abandoned town with very few or no remaining inhabitants.
